songkairui > The view from one of our highest points. Since we were walking through a gorge, there was no "summit" to this hike. At times, this made it psychologically difficult because there was never a point of arrival, just continuous ups and downs. The other psychologically difficult part was the locals who followed you with mules, in hopes that you'd give up and hire one of them to take you the rest of the way. Sit down for a rest and there they were: "Want the mule now?" We didn't succumb!

songkairui > I don't have my hiking boots in China, so I did the best I could with what I had. Next year I'm bringing my boots...these guys just didn't cut it. I'm also going to search high and low for some hiking pants that come in LONG.
